Elephant:

Jan decided to do an up close elephant face as a donation for DSC Life members breakfast. She really loved the texture and was excited with the challenge of creating it. Here she is doing an "under" texture using her cellophane technique.

Here is the entire head with the underpainted texture done.

Because the real subject of this painting is the detailed texture, Jan has done a very intricate drawing of the all the wrinkles. Here she is transferring it using the artist white transfer paper. She is using a red pen so she knows what she has already drawn over.

Jan is now creating the bumpy texture of the forehead using a natural sea sponge.

The forehead is completed along with the eye on the left side.

The left and right eye are now done, and Jan settles down to work carefully on all the wrinkles!

The finished painting - "Wrinkles in Time", 11" x 14".
